Honestly, I don’t know what took me so long to get on the overnight oats bandwagon. Overnight oats are so easy to make, and you can make it the night before work. (A good thing for people like me that would rather sleep in an extra 10 minutes than cook a normal breakfast.) And bonus: overnight oats can be healthy.
The cool thing about this recipe is that the amount of ingredients you use is totally up to you! I like using a small Tupperware container for mine, but a bowl or any other container you like is just as dandy.
- steel-cut oats
- milk(skin or almond)
- vanilla greek yogurt
- sliced almonds
- First, put as many oats as you think you’ll eat in your container. Remember that once they soak up the milk, the oats will expand quite a bit.
- Next, add a dollop of the greek yogurt. I only use a little bit for added sweetness and protein.
- Then, add in your blueberries, strawberries, and however much of the almonds you like.
- Pour the milk over the oats until you can mix them together (the oats should be wet but not swimming in milk) Then put a lid or wrap on the container and leave in the fridge overnight.
Voila, a healthy and easy breakfast you can eat within a few hours or take on the go the next morning!
