My October TBR

Welcome to my belated October TBR! I meant to share this post last weekend but forgot to schedule it ahead of traveling to visit family. So, I’m sharing this a ways into October but the TBR still stands.

On a different note, I’m so glad the fall weather has finally kicked in here and it actually feels like October. Spooky vibes are filling the air, I have my bat costume ready for Halloween, and tomorrow I’ve got a date with a pumpkin and carving set.

Finish my ARC of Girls of Storm and Shadow by Natasha Ngan

I was beyond excited to get approved for an ARC of this book. I’m about halfway through right now and it is (so far) living up to the first book. I can’t wait to share a review on Whiskers & Ink once I am finished.

The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh

Like Ahdieh, I really like New Orleans and the spooky, yet friendly vibe the city puts out. I also really like paranormal stories and romances so I’m really looking forward to reading The Beautiful, a story about a girl who meets vampires in 19th century NOLA.

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

I’m pretty sure I would read anything by Barduo anyway, but I’m intrigued by Ninth House because the premise sound really dark. Like, there’s triggers for murder, abuse, rape, the works. However, while I’m not a born lover of dark stories, I recently got into Jay Kristoff’s Nevernight series (see below!) and I think darker stories can be a good change of pace from time to time. I think Ninth House will be a big change in direction for Bardugo.

Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff

I put off reading this series for ages, only to finally give it a chance a month or so ago. Cue me burning through the series and getting antsy for Darkdawn, which releases on my birthday. I finally got my hands on a copy from the library so I will probably prioritize the book after I finish my ARC of GOSAS.

That’s all I’ve got for now on my October TBR! What books are on your TBR this month? Any spooky-fun activities planned?
